The Botanical Candle Company started making soy wax candles in 2014 and now hand pour thousands of candles every month from their studio in Shaftesbury, Dorset.

Every candle is meticulously made by hand from start to finish using 100% soy wax flakes, ensuring an eco-friendly and clean-burning product.

Fragrances are deeply inspired by nature, blending simple, recognizable scents that evoke a sense of comfort and familiarity. Their approach to fragrance is refreshingly uncomplicated—capturing the essence of the outdoors with aromas that feel grounding and soothing.

The benefits of soy wax scented candles over paraffin alternatives

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. It is a carbon neutral product and is clean burning, so doesn't release harmful toxins or pollutants.

Soy also burns on average 40-50% slower than paraffin wax, resulting in a much longer lasting candle than cheaper alternatives.

Candle care: tips to keep your scented candles in perfect condition

Light your candle for 2-4 hours at a time, or until there is a layer of melted wax across the entire surface of the jar.

Trim the wick to 5mm every time you light your candle. A longer wick will result in a larger flame, which will burn through the wax too quickly.

Keep away from draughts to ensure an even burn.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Leave at least 10cm between candles and do not burn on or near anything that can catch fire. Do not relight when the wax level is less than 10mm.
